TouMaLi's Presentation at the Mediterranean Green Week in Istanbul - 14-16 May 2024
🌿 The Mediterranean Green Week, held from May 14-16, 2024, in Istanbul, Türkiye, was a resounding success, bringing together key stakeholders from across the Mediterranean region. Hosted by the Union for the Mediterranean, the event served as a vital platform for dialogue and collaboration, focusing on pressing environmental and climate challenges as outlined in the UfM Ministerial Declaration on Environment and Climate Action. Through thematic sessions and institutional dialogues, the event facilitated policy coordination, knowledge sharing, and joint action towards a greener, circular economy.
📢 During the event, Dr. Nour El Houda Chaher from Universität Rostock and Lilia BEN ABDALLAH from CITET Tunisia represented the TouMaLi - Prevention of Tourism Marine Litter project. They delivered a significant presentation in Session 1, titled "Towards a Green, Circular Economy - Waste and Plastic Waste," on May 15th. Their talk underscored the importance of #ExtendedProducerResponsibility (EPR) in combating marine litter and fostering a sustainable future for our planet.
