TouMaLi Honored as a Champion in Plastic Pollution Prevention

We are thrilled to announce that TouMaLi has been awarded the prestigious title of "Champion of Plastic Pollution Prevention in the Mediterranean" this October 2024. This accolade is in recognition of TouMaLi's outstanding voluntary actions in combating plastic pollution across the Mediterranean region.

The award is part of the regional initiative "Water and Environment Support (WES) in the ENI Southern Neighbourhood Region," funded by the European Union. This initiative, in collaboration with the Union for the Mediterranean and the Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme, seeks to inspire and acknowledge innovative solutions that address the pressing issue of plastic pollution.

TouMaLi's commitment to sustainable resource management and pioneering solutions has set a benchmark in the fight against plastic pollution. By fulfilling their commitment, TouMaLi joins the esteemed "Circle of Champions in Plastic Pollution Prevention," gaining enhanced visibility and potential future funding opportunities.

The Mediterranean Sea faces an urgent threat from plastic pollution, particularly from Single-Use Plastics (SUPs). The WES project encourages voluntary action and motivates organizations and individuals to propose new initiatives or elevate ongoing efforts to address this environmental challenge. Through their exemplary efforts, TouMaLi has demonstrated the impact of dedicated environmental stewardship.
