In December 2022, several hotels in the target region of Hammam Sousse were visited to investigate current waste management circumstances. Together with municipality members, a team from BlackForest Solution and the University of Rostock was able to gain valuable insights. In many hotels, waste is already separated much better than expected, and in some, the separation already starts in the hotel rooms. Based on the feedback from the interviewed hotel managers and the collected questionnaires, concepts are developed and adapted in cooperation with the local partner and the HoReCa sector in Hammam Sousse to improve the current situation.
