The Moroccan TouMaLi project partner Cadi Ayyad University organized a workshop and site visit in Essouira to discuss the development of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the establishment of a TouMaLi waste center in Essaouira. Workshop and site visit outcomes are summarized in a report, developed by Cadi Ayyad University. 

1. Workshop: At the workshop on May 31, 2023, discussions were held with private sector representatives, as well as the department of sustainable development, on advancing an EPR system in Morocco. In addition to the Moroccan host of the event, Cadi Ayyad university, international TouMaLi partners such as the University of Rostock, Landbell and Exonnexions were also present.

2. Site Visits: During the site visits on June 1, 2023, the TouMaLi team met the Essaouira municipality as well as the tourism delegation of the city of Essaouira. The meeting served to discuss in more detail possibilities for the construction of a TouMaLi waste center as well as the cooperation with the hotels in the region.
